Some people with older cars love an opportunity to show off their model to other fanatics. That is why car shows are such popular events around the country – not only for the people with keen interests but for their families too.
For many people, affording an older car is an issue or they are not practical enough to justify owning. At a car show, they can enjoy the models without all of the additional implications. Some owners even let members of the public sit in the cars, although it is down to individuals and there are not usually any expectations so for those with more fragile cars it may be enough to simply provide a photo opportunity from afar.
There is often a wide range of other activities at car shows too – food stalls, stalls selling merchandise or other goods, charity stalls, and sometimes rides for children. It can be a great day out for everyone.
Getting to and from the show can be an issue for some owners – many enjoy an excuse to take their car out for a spin but for some they would prefer to use a trailer to transport their vehicle. Coordinating this can be an effort and it is obviously an additional expense. The weather can also cause issues – if it has been wet on the day or in the run-up to the event, there will likely be a lot of mud churned up.
