Is it worth having your car professionally valeted when trying to sell it?

When trying to sell a car most people are quite reluctant to spend much money on it as they feel that it will be a waste however sometimes spending a little can earn you a lot.

A professional valet can cost anywhere between £40 and £200 depending on the level of service that you require, the upper end includes fabric interiors being shampooed, all trims being cleaned and treated and even touch ups on any damaged paintwork. However for most this level is a little excessive and unnecessary when selling a car.

A basic valet including cleaning inside and out to a professional level is usually enough to give perspective buyers a good impression of the vehicle. If you have smoked in the car or have had pets in the car regularly you could pay a little more and have a ‘smokebomb’ in the car. These clear any odours that have penetrated the fabrics and are very effective at giving that new car freshness back to even an older vehicle.

All these things will give a new buyer the impression the car has been cared for and will make them much more likely to pay more for the vehicle.
