Some people are fanatic about keeping their car in a pristine condition inside and out. Other people see their car as just a way of getting from A to B and do not take much pride in how it looks. There are often mixed reviews on how often you should wash your car with some people saying that if you wash it too much you may end up causing damage.

If your car gets bird poo, sap or other corrosive elements on it then these should be washed off as soon as possible as they can mark the paintwork and leave a nasty mark. Ideally, you should aim to wash your car once a week to remove the natural build up of dirt and salt from the roads. The most important thing to bear in mind is the soap and cleaning tools you are using. If you use a jet wash be sure not to hold it in the same patch for too long and also not to go over any bits of paint that are already flaking off as this will cause it to lift off completely.

Make sure that you use a good quality car soap not washing up liquid that many people chose to use. Make sure that all chamois and cloths are clean and not too abrasive and never use a scourer.
